Bride and groom light unity candle in Thornewood CastleThornewood Castle in Lakewood, Washington, has a fabulous sunken garden where most wedding ceremonies take place. When the weather doesn't allow for an outdoor wedding, though, Thornewood's Great Hall is the best rainy-day Plan B around! In this photo, the bride and groom are lighting their unity candle with individual taper candles that they lit from the candles on either side. The gorgeous rim lighting on their faces is provided exclusively from the flames and the light fixture on the wall behind. The setting is dim, with dark oak paneling on all the walls and minimal lighting, but that isn't a difficult obstacle to overcome for the experienced, well-equipped wedding photographer.
