Bride's brother holds mask of absent father's face while escorting bride to wedding ceremony at PDZA

When this bride's father was injured in a motorcycle accident just days before her wedding and wasn't able to walk her down the aisle, her brother seamlessly slid right into that role. But, in honor of their absent dad (and probably to give him a little friendly ribbing), he held an oversized print of dad's face — complete with forehead bandaid — over his own face. It was one of the funnier sights I saw that year, that's for sure! The bride's big, loving smile and posture are just perfect, and I love the backdrop's lines and colors. The whole scene has a slightly cool (blue) tonality that fits well with the summer evening light. In fact, in the Places photo gallery on this website, you can see a beautiful wide-angle photo of their ceremony, held on the Pacific Rim Plaza at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington, complete with Mt. Rainier in the background!
