Behind the Lens

We’re Laura and Scott Schoeggl — that’s us over there on the right, with our sons Caleb and Isaac and our golden retriever Bailey.

We moved to the North End of Tacoma in the mid ’90s as freshmen at the University of Puget Sound, and quickly fell in love with the area. Today we live about a mile from campus in a big, 110-year-old Victorian that’s painted a cheerful bright blue.

We launched Wallflower in 2002 after photographing a few friends’ weddings informally. Our many years in the biz make us experienced veterans in a field that sees a lot of photographers come and go, probably after they realize just how much hard work really goes into this amazingly fun job!

When we’re not behind the camera or computer, you’ll probably find us working on restoring our house, digging around in the garden, or entertaining our two young sons in the gorgeous (and often soggy) state that we call home.
